Paulien Schreuder

I came to Ireland for a change of life, an escape of the rat-race, an
opportunity to explore other qualities of life and of myself. I live in a
remote area, there are days I don't see a living soul, except for my
partner. The every day walks with dog in this landscape gives me the feeling
I am just a tiny part of this world. All these so called important things
aren't that important!

For me it was possible to do things I never could have done in Holland. We

started a summerschool for art holidays, it was a dream and it worked out

fine.In january/february/march I work as an consultant in Holland (my old

kind of work). I work in Holland about ten days each month. In the quiet

wintertime I found a good excuse to see my family and old friends. The

combination is great, the best of both worlds and I'll never regret my

decision to live in West Cork.
