As a freelance translator in today’s high-tech world, I am able to work from home thanks to the Internet and e-mail. This has the double advantage of being able to combine my work with bringing up two small children and having the option to choose where I want to live. I specialise in translating engineering and environmental documents from Spanish to English and work with companies from all over Spain without having to move from my desk at home.



The project is an excellent idea and I only wish it had been around when I first became self-employed as the resources it offers may prove invaluable. I hope it will provide opportunities to meet and network with other members, which will be particularly welcome in my work where I only have the dog to talk to most of the day.
